Curso Regular
Estructura del curso
Duración del curso 160 horas
1º Semana: “El punto neutro”

1-2 septiembre
El cuerpo cómico
(Norman Taylor) | 16 horas | 130 euros
Regular Course
Course structure
Course duration: 160 hours
Week 1: “The neutral point”
Iván Prado will work toward the direct and open expression of personal essence, while each afternoon Antón Valén will help us dismantle bad-habit dynamics in order to reach what we call the neutral point: the starting point in the search for personal actor essence.
Week 2: Improvisation and “The Search”
“Those who carry out improvisation work have the opportunity to observe, with striking clarity, the speed at which the frontiers of 'freedom' are reached” (Peter Brook)
One of the best tools for awakening creativity and stage-play is the improvisation that Carles Castillo teaches to build up listening and acceptance. During an improvisation we should listen, understand, react, think, and finally propose, allowing ourselves to be guided above all by sincerity. This will help us to achieve naturalness, freshness, ingenuity, fluidity, poetry and most importantly, ideas so clear and interesting that we can make a truly literary text out of improvisation.
With Antón Valén we will focus on “The Search,” exploring the presence and simplicity of the clown. In searching for simplicity through play and the picaresque, we strive to be totally attentive and sufficiently modest so as to be able to begin everything anew. Each student will discover and feed her own search, and this persona will evolve insofar as the student pinpoints its essence and then approaches her own clown from within herself.
Recuperating the freedom to create and posit everything that passes through the mind is an actor's resource, if we can learn to recognize it and act upon it without any censoring instinct. This, in turn, will grant us an enormous on-stage ease.
Week 3: “Performance” and “Auto-creation”
In PERFORMANCE Antón Valén will guide us thought the art of theatrical play: rhythm, pauses, pretext, listening, complicity with play and with the audience. . . Orient your act and obtain stage presence.
AUTO-CREATION will be our laboratory for experimentation and our very own orienting workshop for clown numbers which will culminate, with the help of experienced instructors, in the final week of setting up shop and preparing for clown numbers.
Week 4: “The Comic Body” and “Auto-creation”
THE COMIC BODY: part of stage presence is based on a coherent relationship with our body. The actor must enable his body, know its possibilities, and convert it into the vehicle for his emotions: the body is a comedian's surest ally. For this, one must know why and for what reason it moves and how to project its force towards the audience. We will work with an international specialist in movement, Norman Taylor, who has transcended demonstrating the body to communicating it.
From ordinary to extraordinary: The comic body.
It doesn't matter if one feels comical or not: Being comical or not is the only way to live in this world. We are going to explore the natural movements of the body, its actions and its gestures, in order to create a vision of the ridiculous.
AUTO-CREATION will be our laboratory for experimentation and our very own orienting workshop for clown numbers which will culminate, with the help of experienced instructors, in the final week of setting up shop and preparing for clown numbers.

Clowning around existence
(Iván Prado) | 16 hours | 100 euros
That which is inside of us shines and resonates. Our laughter, like the air that our lungs transform into lifeblood, is capable of renewing us and opening up existence. We urge you to embrace the clown we all carry inside, in a beautiful journey creating circles of laughter all around us. If we accept our stupidity and put it in contact with our hearts a catharsis is produced which allows us to transmute pain into light, shame into peace, and pity into plenty.
